Because the number of women being raped or sexually assulted by minicab drivers is increasing each year.

If you're calling a cab from a public place, ask for the driver's name and the make and colour of the car. When he arrives, check the details.

Always sit in the back of the cab. If you feel threatened, firmly ask the driver to stop - if possible in a busy place - and get out. Make sure you have your fare ready and your keys in your hand. If you live alone, make sure you've left a light on at home, so it doesnt look as though you're going into an empty house.
